Blue Egg Vase
This slender egg vase has several layers of glaze that create a moody landscape on the surface of the pot. The alkaline glaze at the top is a simple mixture of ashes from the artist's neighbor's wood stove, red dirt from an adjacent field and crushed glass. Each vase is hand thrown using locally sourced clay from North Carolina and then fired in a wood burning kiln.
Hallyburton Pottery Matt Hallyburton's ceramics define handmade. Matt digs native clay from local creek beds in the foothills of North Carolina. He mixes and dries it, hand throws each piece on his wheel, and fires them in a wood burning kiln. Learn More >
